Join us for the First Annual Dessert Picnic!

On Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 1:00–4:00, The Recorder will host its First Annual Dessert Picnic, a sweet community event bringing together home bakers, local businesses, and dessert lovers from across Northern Westchester.

About the Event

 

The Dessert Picnic invites home bakers to share their favorite homemade desserts in a fun, picnic-style afternoon at the Bedford Hills Park Pavilion.

Here's how it works:

​

• Home bakers register in advance and submit their favorite recipe, which will be compiled into a digital recipe collection for all participants after the event.

• Registration is $20 and includes the baker and guests.

• Each baker brings enough of one homemade dessert to provide approximately 8-10 servings.

• Not a baker? You can still join us. The ticket price for non-bakers is $30.

• Every group gets a Dessert Picnic box and selects 8 desserts prepared by fellow bakers.

• We'll provide the boxes, utensils, and napkins.

• Attendees bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy an afternoon of delicious desserts & community.

• In addition to the home baker exchange, professional bakers and dessert vendors will offer free samples and desserts for purchase. Beverages, entertainment, and family-friendly activities will make this a memorable community event.
   

NOTE about allergens: all bakers will be asked to put stickers on their dessert labels (we will provide them) so that common allergens of nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten are identified. For people with allergies, The Recorder is not responsible for the omission of this information.
