IN BRIEF

A gratifying year and exciting plans for 2025

As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect with deep humility and gratitude on the remarkable support that has propelled The Recorder forward.

When the previous local weekly newspaper abruptly ceased publication last January, it left a void that was immediately met with concern — but also with an inspiring groundswell of energy and interest in creating something new.

True to the spirit of great communities, Bedford, Lewisboro and Pound Ridge saw leaders rise to the occasion. By late March, The Recorder had officially begun its journey.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors, we were able to hire a talented team including journalists, an art director and ad sales director. By summer, we launched our website, and in September, we were overjoyed to see The Recorder’s inaugural print edition roll off the presses.

The enthusiastic response from advertisers and the steady growth of our subscriber base have affirmed our belief in the vital role The Recorder plays in strengthening community life. As a nonprofit, nonpartisan and independent news organization, we are committed to serving our readers with high-quality journalism that informs and connects the communities we call home.

As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited to continue building The Recorder’s content and reach. We are developing programs to expand our news coverage, enhance our editorial features and deepen community engagement.

From all of us at The Recorder, we thank you for your support, and extend our heartfelt wishes for a joyful holiday season and a peaceful, healthy and happy New Year.
