Domestic argument
Saturday, Feb. 15, at 2:28 a.m., Police went to a residence in Katonah after a wife reported a domestic situation. They found her husband in the garage. He was uncooperative, and said, “Talk to her.” Police next spoke with his wife who was inside the home. She said they’d been out to dinner and alcohol was involved; when they got home there was an argument. An ambulance was called and the husband went to Northern Westchester Hospital. A New York state domestic incident report was given to his wife. No further information was provided.
Monday, Feb. 10
12:24 p.m. — Two men dressed in green jackets were reported as suspicious by a resident of South Beechwood Road, Bedford Hills, who told police they banged on her front door but she didn’t answer. Her door camera caught them walking away. She was not home to be interviewed by police responding. The neighborhood was searched for the two men with negative results.
5:13 p.m. — A female, 89, from Katonah was taken by Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital after complaining of fever and coughing, flu symptoms, and being unable to walk.
Tuesday, Feb. 11
10:25 a.m. — A male, 68, from Peekskill was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps after complaining of difficulty breathing at a location on South Bedford Road, Bedford Hills. He said he was having an allergic reaction to an IV contrast. No further information was provided.
10:40 a.m. — A caller reported finding four Amazon boxes in the woods off Haines Road, Bedford Hills. The boxes contained miscellaneous items. Only one box still had a label connecting it to a store in White Plains. An officer took custody of the boxes and put them into property safekeeping.
12:20 p.m. — A caller told police their car was not returned to them after an acquaintance on Norm Avenue, Bedford Hills, offered to repair some minor damage. This happened in November 2024 and since then the complainant has not been in contact with that person. Police contacted the acquaintance and told them the complainant only wants their vehicle returned. Plans were made to make that happen. The complainant was advised to contact police if they did not get their car back.
7:03 p.m. — A young female was taken from her home in Bedford to Northern Westchester Hospital by Bedford firefighters after police spoke to her father who said she’d called 911 without his knowledge. She expressed feelings of self-harm and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Wednesday, Feb. 12
11:26 a.m. — Police dispatched a coyote reported sick or injured on McLain Street, Bedford Hills. The department of public works was contacted to remove it.
11:46 p.m. — A car was reported off the roadway on Bedford Center Road, Bedford Hills, following a one-car crash where a car went into a ditch and had to be towed; police connected the driver with a taxi to get home. They said a state DOT sign was damaged as well as two residential mailboxes. The driver, who wasn’t injured, told police their car slid off the road due to weather conditions.
Thursday, Feb. 13
7:55 a.m. — A traffic detail involving a decoy car deployment on Springhurst Road, Bedford Hills, was put in place as a reminder for drivers to slow down when traveling through the area.
8:49 a.m. — Police met at headquarters to initiate a task force deployment addressing a recent spate of property crimes in Bedford. A second special deployment was put in place again at 8:47 p.m. The purpose is high visibility of a police presence in the area as a deterrent to criminal behavior.
2:25 p.m. — Police went to a residence on Deer Park Road, Katonah, to serve an order of protection against the resident initiated by a court order out of New Jersey. Criminal charges and a warrant for arrest have also been charged against the resident. Bedford Police tried multiple times to serve the paperwork but were unable to do so. New Jersey Police were advised.
Friday, Feb. 14
8:36 a.m. — Three cars collided on South Bedford Road, Bedford Hills, when a fourth vehicle, who was not involved in the collision but might have caused it, was making an illegal left-hand turn from Sarles Street onto South Bedford Road. The first vehicle slammed on their brakes which resulted in the two cars following crashing into each other. None of the cars required a tow, and the first uninvolved driver was not cited. The operator of a second vehicle, male, 40, from Mount Kisco, was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps for chest pain.
5:11 p.m. — A Katonah resident requested a report made of incidents involving her adult son’s childhood friend who comes to her home uninvited. She said her son was close friends with this person in high school, but her son now lives far away. The friend has been known to be unstable and has been texting her son strange messages. She recently opened the door to him and he made comments leaving her unsettled. She did not want police to make contact with him at this time. They told her to call them if he continues to come around.
Saturday, Feb. 15
1:26 p.m. — A resident of Dwight Lane, Bedford Hills, came to headquarters to report her soon-to-be ex-husband put an electronic tracking device on her vehicle. He admitted to her via text that he was tracking her. She told him she was reporting that to the police and he has since removed the device from her car. A New York state domestic incident report was completed.
4:22 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a protest outside the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility on Harris Road, Bedford Hills. On their arrival, they saw approximately 20 people dispersing the area. According to press reports, some corrections officers across the state were protesting extensive overtime. No further action was needed.
Sunday, Feb. 16
2:12 p.m. — A resident of Old Bridge, New Jersey, male, 85, was taken from a restaurant where he was having lunch on Old Post Road to Northern Westchester Hospital via Bedford fire for possible stroke. Police say he was conscious but not responsive on their arrival. A medic took over care prior to his getting into the ambulance on a stretcher.
8:48 p.m. — A tree was reported down on a car on Pea Pond Road, Katonah. On arrival police saw a tree across the roadway but not on a car. The area was taped off and flares were lit and the utility was notified.
9:03 p.m. — A tree was reported down on Post Road, Bedford. Police on arrival saw branches that could easily be removed to the side of the roadway. The road was cleared.
11:54 p.m. — A tree was reported down on Baldwin Road, Bedford. The highway department was notified and the road was cleared of hazards.
12:00 midnight — A tree was reported down and blocking the parking area in the vicinity of the Lake Marie apartments on Haines Road, Bedford Hills. Caution tape was placed around the area and the building management notified.
