Two men hallucinating

On Sunday, March 30, at 9:56 p.m., Police and Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps members went to a residence in Bedford Hills after two Katonah men reported experiencing hallucinations after eating magic mushrooms. Both men, 55, and 35, declined medical assistance or transport. They were advised to call back in case anything changes.

Monday, March 24

7:53 p.m. — A resident of Katonah, male, 25, was unconscious but breathing when police and Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived at his residence. He was found lying on a bedroom floor, drifting in and out of consciousness and was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital by ambulance. Westchester EMS was also on scene. Police report he had a seizure.

Tuesday, March 25

1:08 p.m. — Police went to a residence in The Mews on Harris Road, Bedford Hills, for a report of a situation with the caller’s dog. When the officer arrived, the dog was barking too loudly to have a conversation; the officer asked the man to put the dog inside the home, which he did. The reporting party said two women who live in an adjacent unit yelled at his dog. While they were talking, the dog escaped from an open slider and barked at the officer. The caller was advised this was not a police matter and he should take up his issue with building management. The neighboring women were contacted, and one said she “shushed the dog” which caused the owner to start yelling at them. They were also advised to contact building management regarding the barking dog. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other.

9:14 p.m. — An intoxicated man was reported loitering outside Kohl’s department store on Bedford Road, Bedford Hills. Police searched the area with negative results.

Wednesday, March 26

3:51 p.m. — Police spoke with a recently terminated employee reported on the premises of the Bedford Post Inn. He told the officer he understood he was no longer employed by the Bedford Post but came back to be paid for work already completed. Police told him the manager said he would be paid through direct deposit and gave him a courtesy ride to the Bedford Hills train station.

6:16 p.m. — A caller on Cliffside Road, Bedford Hills, reported an unknown individual banging on her door. She called back a few minutes later to say it was a delivery driver at the wrong address and there was no problem.

Thursday, March 27

3:53 p.m. — A blond man reported as “acting strangely” in a restaurant’s restroom in Katonah was interviewed by police while sitting in a car parked across the street from the reporting restaurant. Three people were in the car, and the man in question said they were driving from Virginia to Maine and just needed to use a restroom. As all their paperwork indicated no criminal activities they were free to leave the area.

Friday, March 28

2:23 p.m. — The owner of Northwind Kennels in Bedford came to headquarters to report persistent harassment on social media she said are meant to smear her business. She said she is considering getting an order of protection. Police attempted to contact the person she said is harassing her without success.

Saturday, March 29

2:53 p.m. — Police interviewed family members at a home in Katonah regarding a past incident of a rumor going around John Jay High School about a possible inappropriate relationship between a student and a much older teenager. Police spoke with the younger teenager who denied the relationship. The parents were advised to take it up with the student resource officer and to reach out to JJHS directly.

Sunday, March 30

7:55 p.m. — A food delivery driver making a delivery on Sunset Drive, Bedford Hills, reported she was bitten by a Labrador-mix at the residence as she was leaving the property. She said the dog grabbed her pants and then bit or nipped her on her thigh; her skin wasn’t broken but was bruised. She declined medical attention but wanted a report made and the incident documented. A dog bite form was completed and the dog control officer will be following up with the dog owner.
