Musicians United for ALS: A Night for Wayne Warnecke
A benefit for ALS United Greater New York — “A Night for Wayne Warnecke” — is set for Tuesday, April 15, from 7 to 10 p.m., at the State University of New York at Purchase, located at 735 Anderson Hill Road, Purchase.
Warnecke is a record producer from Pound Ridge.
Performers and guests include the Average White Band, the Grammy-nominated Scottish funk and R&B band best known for their instrumental track “Pick up the Pieces,” Patty Smyth, Bernie Williams, Paul Shaffer, the Bacon Brothers, Elza Libhart and Kati Max.

Mayer and Pace Women’s Justice host toiletry drive
State Senator Shelley Mayer is partnering with Pace Women’s Justice Center to sponsor a Toiletry Drive in acknowledgment of April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The senator and PWJC request donations of full-size items, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorants, moisturizers, and feminine hygiene products. The drive continues through April 27.
Drop-off locations include Pound Ridge Town House, 179 Westchester Ave, Pound Ridge and Sen. Mayer’s Office, 235 Mamaroneck Ave., Suite 400, White Plains.
Bedford firefighters set open house April 26
The Bedford Fire Department is hosting its annual hands-on Open House on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the firehouse, located at 550 Old Post Road, Bedford.
It is a free, family-friendly event with activities, demonstrations, and lots of fire trucks to climb in.
“Be a first responder for the day!” the fire department said in an announcement.

Paul Revere’s midnight ride coming to Rochambeau Farm on April 18
Join Friends of John Jay Homestead in partnership with the Bedford Historical Society, Bedford Riding Lanes Association and Rochambeau Farm for a special event to kickstart America’s semiquincentennial celebration in Bedford.
On Friday, April 18, from 5 to 7 p.m., people will gather at Rochambeau Farm to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere’s ride to Lexington and Concord with a dramatic reading of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem, “Paul Revere’s Ride.”
It is a family event for kids of all ages. Pizza and beverages will be served for both children and adults after the reading and there will be 18th-century games.
Discounted admission for members of Friends of John Jay Homestead, Bedford Historical Society, or BRLA.

Putting the “fun” in fundraisers
The Lewisboro Library puts the “fun” in fundraisers by hosting concerts, off-site Trivia Nights and theatrical experiences to bring the community together while raising funds for the library.
A new series of Trivia Nights will take place at the Horse & Hound, located at 94 Spring St., South Salem, on Thursdays, March 13, April 10 and May 15, at 7 p.m.
Questions will cover a range of topics including general knowledge, pop culture, history, music, and more. A great way to gather with your neighbors, win prizes, and compete for the title of Lewisboro Library Trivia Champions.
Reserved seats are $25 per player per Trivia Night, and can be purchased at the library or online at lewisborolibrary.org. A reduced pub menu and cash bar will also be available.

A handy new guide is available showcasing the town of Bedford’s many destinations of interest.
Designed for visitors, residents and businesses, EAT. SHOP. EXPLORE BEDFORD offers information about art, culture, history, dining, recreation, parks, shopping and entertainment options, packaged in a compact, map-based format. Copies of the brochure have been mailed to residents and also are available at town pools, libraries, John Jay Homestead Farm Market, and other sites.
The printed guide is augmented by an online site offering additional information and search functionality. Dozens of local sponsoring businesses and Destination 39.3 collaborated on the first-of-its kind project.
