Letters to the Editor Week of Oct. 4

We missed reading our local newspaper

To the Editor:

To those involved in the publication of The Recorder.

We didn’t fully realize how much we missed a weekly local paper until the first edition of The Recorder appeared in our mailbox.

With pleasure, we read it from the front page, through to the end, because we are hungry for in-depth coverage of the many facets of life in our community.

Applause to the mission and vision of the founders, staff, and contributors of this paper, and its journalistic high standards.

We look forward to reading the future editions.

Joetta and John Stanley, 55-year residents of Katonah

Thanks to supporters and sponsors for successful Lewisboro Library Fair

To the Editor:

Thank you to all those who celebrated at the annual Lewisboro Library Fair on Sept. 21 at Onatru Farm! The Fair is our biggest fundraiser, so we were grateful for all those who played, shopped and enjoyed a beautiful day while supporting their library.

We truly appreciate the tireless efforts of our volunteers and community groups, as well as the generous funding from fair sponsors that helped make this event such a success! Thank you to: Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, Cooney Tree Service, Gina Cooney/Giner Realty, Patrick M. Croke Architect, Gramatan Management, Law Office of Peter D. Hoffman, Houlihan Lawrence Katonah, The Hudson Milk Company, Keane’s Autoworks, JPL Construction, Marshall Oil Company, Mercedes-Benz of Goldens Bridge, The Recorder, Ring’s End, Salem Liquors, South Salem Auto Care, Tom’s Outdoor Services, Vista Beer & Beverage and William Raveis Katonah. Thanks also to Bill Mayer of Ingenuities, for his delicious Bake Sale treats.

A huge thanks to the 2024 Fair Committee Chairs and individual volunteers. Some were new this year, but many have been volunteering for decades! We are deeply grateful for your dedication and contributing so generously of your time.

Local organizations and businesses also supported the Library Fair via in-kind donations and volunteer time. Please see our complete list of supporters on the Library website and join us in supporting these organizations. They made this Fair possible!

Finally, our biggest thank you goes to Fair Coordinator Nina Andrews, whose enthusiasm, leadership and organization were the key to the success of the fair and the funds raised for the library, funds that go directly to support daily operations.

We look forward to seeing you at the next Lewisboro Library Fair!

Sincerely,

Lewisboro Library Director Cindy Rubino
